"That looks good to me." "I don't see anything wrong with that."
"...every man did that which was right in his own eyes." Judges 17:6
"The way of a fool is right in his own eyes..." Proverbs 12:15
"Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD ponders the hearts." Proverbs 21:2
"And he did evil in the sight of the LORD..." I Kings 15:34
I John 1:1-7 "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."
Where are our own eyes? On what are they focused? Do we each seek out and do what we please? What is right in our own eyes?
Or have we turned our eyes upon Jesus? Is it His will that we follow? Is what we do right before the eyes of God?
We cannot serve two masters. We cannot walk in the light and darkness at the same time.
We each make a choice...
"And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve;... but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." Joshua 24:15
