Our soon to be effective, socialized health care, has some interested features. We keep being told that it is all about providing health care for the "uninsured" and that the government is concerned about bringing down the cost of health care and that it is about improving the quality of health care.
To address those three issues, I offer:
If it is about covering the uninsured, why does it include a section dealing with charging a fine to those individuals who prefer to keep their private insurance plan. You would think that they would encourage us to keep what we already have and maybe even reward us for being covered without their help. But no, you will be fined 2.5% of your income, up to $2,500 if you do not sign up for a "qualified plan". Of course, they decide what is a qualified plan for you.
They are admitting that the initial plan would only cover 1/3 of the uninsured.
As the bringing down the cost of health care, one of the best ways to accomplish this would be to pass tort reform and put some limits on malpractice claims. But, BO has made it clear that he does not support this cost saving feature. Could it have anything to do with politician attorneys protecting ambulance-chasing attorneys? We were told that the initial plan will cost $1.6 trillion (1,600,000 x 1,000,000). Since they claim it will cover about 15,000,000 uninsured over ten years, that works out to over $1,000 per person per month. How is that bringing down cost?
As to improving the quality of health care, we already have the best system in the world. Explain to me how having a clerk on the government payroll making medical decisions for your care is supposed to get higher quality results than what your doctor and you would decide.
Do not think for a minute that the real motivation for passing this plan has anything to do with any of the above reasons. This, as with most everything else this administration has done, is about MONEY (your money going to them), CONTROL (them controlling every aspect of your life) and POWER (their ego makes them think they are better equipped to run your life than you are and they want the power to dictate).
Remember, they were at war with us but we were not at war with them!
